Missing high school student from E.China’s Anhui safely returns to China: media report

A high school student surnamed Hu from Lujiang, East China’s Anhui Province, who had been reported missing, has safely returned to China via the Meng’a port in Pu’er, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province on Friday, according to CCTV News. 

Police investigations revealed that after going missing, Hu traveled through Ma’anshan in Anhui, Nanjing in East China’s Jiangsu Province, and Kunming in Yunnan, with his trail ultimately vanishing in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, according to the CCTV News report.

Hu’s family received news on Wednesday that he had escaped from a telecom fraud zone in Myanmar and returned to China on Friday morning via Pu’er, according to CCTV News. 

Hu’s father, Hu Zongbing, continued searching for his son and traveling to several locations, including Hefei in Anhui, Kunming and Xishuangbanna in Yunnan. Since his son went missing, he has followed the trail of his last known whereabouts in hopes of finding him, according to another CCTV News report.

On July 15, police in Hefei, Anhui Province, issued a notice stating that they had verified the online information regarding the “18-year-old high school student from Lujiang who went missing after flying to Xishuangbanna,” confirming that the situation was basically true.
